Paddington Art Prize

Welcome to the Paddington Art Prize 2016

A $25,000 National acquisitive prize for a painting inspired by the Australian landscape, now in it's 13th year. I have pleasure in announcing an additional NON-ACQUISITIVE PRIZE of $5,000 for a young artist aged 18-30. In addition UNSW Art & Design will offer a selected artist the opportunity to create a limited edition print plus a $2,000 prize will be presented to the Honorable Mention recipient and a $1,000 gift certificate from the Sydney Art Store will be presented to the Highly Commended recipient. As well, a selected artist will be given the opportunity to enjoy a 1 week artist retreat at Sofala Cottage.

Congratulations to Ross Laurie, Winner of the $25,000 Paddington Art Prize.

Congratulations to our other prize winners: Robyn Sweaney, Winner of the Honourable Mention Prize, Joshua Cocking, Winner of the Highly Commended Prize, Catherine Cassidy, Winner of the 2 Week Artist Retreat Prize and Mary Tonkin, Winner of the Print Prize.

A big thank you to the judges Euan Macleod, Michael Nock, and Peter Sharp for their time and expertise is selecting the finalists and winners and thanks to all those involved who made this year's prize possible.

Entry Prize Giveaway

This year, each completed entry into the Paddington Art Prize was automatically placed into a draw for random selection to win a signed, limited edition print by Tony Costa, winner of the Paddington Art Prize 2014. We are pleased to announce that Penelope Oates of Grose Vale, NSW was selected and is the recipient of a limited edition print of Tony's winning painting "Fallen Tree Port Hacking RNP" from 2014. Paddington Art Prize wishes to thank all the artists for their support and participation in the prize this year.
